Making That BIG Decision.

P and I have been discussing alot of things latley. We have realized latley how young we really are. I think before Evelyn came along we felt alot older, and more mature. Evelyn has brought so many joys into our lives and has widened our perspective of the world and what we want for our furture as well as hers.

It goes from do we want more children, to do we want P to stay in the Army. These are all big decisions in our life.

The biggest one for right now is if we want to have P stay in the Army. P has been enlisted for 6 years. He is already an E6 and has complished alot in that time frame. In May is when his re-enlistment date is, and he'll have a few months to decide if we are staying in or getting out. We have decided that in May we need to make the decison, it would be better for us to know right away what we are doing and to start saving for it.

As much as I say "should we stay in the Army" I know its his choice, but its also mine. Those wives who say I am not enlisted and shouldnt say that. Your right, but this isnt just P's choice, ultimitly it is his decision on what he wants to do with his career. But I am also involved in his life and he would never dream of not asking me first and concidering what is best for Evelyn and I.

I go back and forth on him staying in. In our short 4 year relationship he has been gone more then he has been home. I hoenstly believe that all the crap I went through with emotional and sexual abuse as well as lossing my sister made me grow up to be a very strong person. I know I could do more deployments, I know I could kick deployment ass. But being a new mom, I have no fucking idea if I could put Evelyn through this. Evelyn cannot vocalize that she misses her Dad right now...but the fact that she never says Mama anymore..or very rarelly, and when she gets to talk to P on the phone she lights up...I know she misses her Dad.

Its probably the hardest decision we have ever made. P really wants to re-take his ASVAB, from how he explained it he got a 109 and you need a 110 to not need wavers for Warrent Officer. He also wants to be a Drill Sergeant or a Recruiter. He wants to do a million things. In his job as a 13D, he has told me its hard to get your E7, so if he were to stay in he would want to go to Warrent Officer school in a few years.  In my head his mind is made up about re-enlisting, but when I ask him, he says he cant answer me.

I love being an Army Wife. I love that we get to move to all sorts of different places and meet alot of new people. I love being in this community and meeting up with all my bloggy lovies and I love having a different life from the norm. But I also miss the idea of owning my own home, and having a baby sitter more often then every blue moon.

If P was to re-enlist we would do the full 20 years..or more to get retirment. The next re-enlistment he would already have 10 years in and then it would just be stupid to get out.

But I am absolutly terrified to do another deployment. P's batallion at Bragg is on the Global Command Force, basically meaning if something were to happen he's gone. With everything happening at embassys across the Middle East its giving me the worst anxiety. While P hasnt been home from his 12 months yet, technically if something happened, today he would be put on Rear D, and I wouldnt care! I'd love that! But I am not always so sure he would like staying behind when he has been working so hard with his men.

I've survived 2 deployments back to back, I just know right now I am not ready to do a 3rd one. At least not yet.

Having P re-enlist is a very hard decision. While it seems others take it so easy I am not sure I am. I go back and forth and make lists about the benifits (for Evelyn and I), but I really just miss that scence of security with him being home and never ever deploying again.

Its a hard choice. I am not sure how we are gonna make it, but I know we have a while. So hopefully when the time is right we will just know.

Everything happens for a reason right?

Show & Tell: Stuck on an Island

1. Tell us, if you could only take 5 people with you to a deserted island, who would it be, and why?
P: Cause I need someone to kill animals for me.
Evelyn: Cause I cannot not have her with me.
Pink: Cause she's freaking hilarious and I'd need some good tunes.
Rihanna: She knows Island life very well she might be useful.
The Pepsi Delivery Guy: you know why.

2. Show us which island you'd like to be deserted at.
Bora Bora!!

3. Tell us, if you could only bring 3 items with you, what would those items be. And why?
Ipod: I need my music!
Computer: So I can update you all on my tan...or sunburn.
Jamba Juice: Its so good!

4. Show us 3 pictures that you would take with you.

I have to bring my family with me.

5. Tell us what you envision life would be like on that island. Do you think you would go into survival mode? Would you be like those Survivor people and eat bugs? What qualities do you possess that would help you survive. Do share.
If P was with me I would deffinitly do what it takes to stay alive. I am not really the type of person that can give up. Usually when I give up 5 minutes later I try it again and I do it. So I think I would do just fine.

Ready to Go!!

I have seriously offically decided I am never coming home this long..(unless its a family emergancy) ever again. I love my family and I love my friends but holy crap!! Its alot to be in someone elses home and sadly even it is your parents house your out of your comfort zone.

Latley when I say..."YES! Its almost time to go home I cannot wait!!!" people respond with... "how rude", "oh", "geeze thanks"...ya no offence to the people who swore up and down they would see me all the time and saw me once maybe twice...even not at all, but I miss my life with my husband, and me getting ready to go back to Bragg is like HUGE! 3 months are over with and I can go be a normal---ish family with my hunny bunches again!

I am offically a week away from leaving Utah and going back to NC, so lots of packing is to be done! Lots of shipping is to be done! Evelyn grew out of one size of clothing and she had a birthday, and I am a sucker for buying her anything. Plus I did all my crafts and I did alot of Halloween shopping.

My mom (along with my sister) is coming back with me to Bragg for 10 days! She never takes vacations this long! But I am so flipping happy someone is coming back with me and will help me with Evelyn on the plane and to babysit at least once!

Lets go time!! I hate wishing time away but I am so ready to have my family back together!

14 Months!!

WOW! Evelyn turned 1 yesterday didnt she? Now I have a 14 month old? I think times goes by faster after the first birthday. Evelyn is a walking, running and talking machine!! She has started saying lots of more words. Such as..

"Ampa!" (Grandpa)
"Enk you" (thank you)
"MMMk" (Milk)
"Rink" (Drink)

Its flipping crazy!! I have always tried to point to things and tell her what things are, and if they make a sound we say the sound and its looking like its paying off!

I do sadly have a little tempertantrum little lady on my hands. I usually try to laugh it off, ignore her or just tell her no. Usually when I say No or Knock It Off, she calms down. I feel mean doing it but I know I do not want these tempertantrums out of control. She has been so spoiled by my family and I am learning why I was such a brat when I was a kid. If I threw a tantrum I got what I wanted and I always knew it. They give Evelyn snacks when she is upset and I have made it clear that Evelyn is not to get rewarded for her tempertantrums. Thank goodness they listen to me most of the time.

The girls hair is starting to grow! More then just on the top too! Although she still has that feathery baby hair, she is getting longer hair! And the longer it gets the less she will let me do with her hair. Clippies last for 5 minutes, bows last 2 seconds and shes started pulling out her ponytail or "the poof" on the top of her head. Oi.

Diapers-Size 3..still!

Clothes- in 12 months for shirts and you can wear only sweat pants since your so pettite.

Sleep- Sleeping usually through the night. You have a night here and there where your moan and groan in your sleep or you just have a hard night.

Food- Your the pickiest eater. I can get you to eat bread and mac & cheese but usually nothing else. I'm learning though you'll eat usually whats on my plate. Even meat which is a miracle!

Teeth- I think you got 9 teeth now. Maybe even more.

Firsts- Zoo Trip! Talking!

Lose at least maybe...20 pounds. That would be great but I am not putting too much pressure on myself.

Maybe this last year. I think P and I had a great year with Evelyn growing up! But I probably wouldnt relive it if I had the chance. I like moving forward.
5. What do you wish people knew about you without you having to tell them?
How I actually am pretty shy, but it really doesnt take long for me to warm up.
That people that made fun of Mormans realized I am a (non-practicing) Mormon.

I can seriously be your therapist.

Evelyns 1 Year Photo Book

**Dont forget to enter my giveaway!! Click Here!**

I wanted to be able to share Evelyn's one year photobook that I made on Shutterfly! I am a horrible scrapbooker and so is my Mom...and I always hated that she never did anything with my photos that was kinda cool.

One of my biggest goals is to store photos on an external hard drive and print out lots of them! Since I already have to print out photos for my MIL, I usually do them at the same time. I like the idea of have the photos and (hopefully) never loosing them. So far I have done awesome at hiding them in my sock drawer (I know), and printing our our memories! Usually when Shutterfly sends me codes for free...anything! I jump right on it!

I used my monthly updates from my blog in Evelyns photobook as well. Its great to have those to hold onto.

I plan on doing one of these every year! Its probably going to cost the same amount of money to scrapbook anyways! But I love my work! I worked hard and I hope you enjoy it!

Curvy Coming Back.

**dont forget to enter my giveaway! Click Here!

I have updated my blog many times talking about my struggles with weightloss and diet. My most recent weight-loss attempt was a diet called FA...Food Addicts and its basically no sugar and no flour. I did excelent and lost 10 pounds! with in the first 2 weeks.

With Holidays fastly approching and all the yummy goodies on Pintrest I am dying to make, I have started figuring out ways to stick to my diet while also being able to indulge in the holidays...especially with pumpkin MMM.

So before I start making all these yummy goodies. I am practicing myself control...with bread. I know shocker right? I'm eating bread. Holy shit.

Luckily its been working out good for me! I am not tempted to eat sugar too often. I have had cake...right I know another holy shit moment. I eat a small slice and its one slice. Boom.

I havent weighed myself...mainly because when I was in Oklahoma it was kinda hard to follow my diet when I didnt have a kitchen or a big fridge...but I ate light meals as much as I could.

My husband even noticed my curves! I havent felt curvey in a long time and I love that I am starting to getting my curves back! I loved having  a flat tummy and my beautiful curves!

I even made a running mix....ok I dont run but I want to one day its more like an "I'm gonna one day run until then this is awesome music mix".

You can read last years post here.

I remember the day as if it were yesterday. Walking into my 7th Grade Utah History class and watching the buildings be hit..walking down the hallway to hearing the news on the radios. Learning that we were under attack.

At the time in my life I dont think I ever knew how close I could be to the soldiers who are now protecting our freedoms. To those who I grew up with and graduated with, to the man I married. I have met many men who enlisted on 9/11. And sadly have had the pleasure of meeting men who went to war and lost their lives. Words cannot and never will describe what it feels like to have known these men and to have known many hero's. My husband will never know the effect he has on me, and how he has made me so much more prouder to be an American. I am blessed beyond words to have my husband still here with me and to know these men. You all are always in my heart!

God Bless America.
Big thank you to everyone who has served and will serve.
Those who have lost their lives protecting our freedoms.
And those who are mourning their deaths.
Never. Ever. Forgotten.

My Trip to OK

I didnt take too many photos. I mainly went for Labor Day weekend. P was supposta have a 4 day weekend, well technically we assumed. But he got a 3 day weekend. Sucked but you know thats really how it goes.

I got to do one bloggy meet up with Jamie @ This is Me; Consequently. It was fun to go eat at a local resturant! I thought the food and fries were to die for!! Evelyn even ate her Grilled Chesse which is seriously impressive with her pickyness. Jamie has a daughter a little older then Evelyn and we took them to Jamies house to play for a bit, and it surprised me so much how much they enjoyed eachother! Evelyn is never around kids her age very often, so when she is she usually doesnt like them...she thinks she is a big kid. But they had a blast playing with the Elmo Guitar and taking and giving toys to eachother! It was too funny!!

If you didnt know Fort Sill is the Home of the Field Artillery...and thats what my husband is! I love learning about what he does! So we had the chance to go check out the Field Artillery museum!
The museum was pretty empty so we let Evelyn run around while P and I checked out everything. The man working at the Museum gave Evelyn her first political figure doll...Abe. She loved him.
My Husband was pretty much in heaven at the museum! So many cool cannons all over the place, and he has been to Fort Sill for training before but he hadn't ever been to the museum so it was fun to check out together. Across the yard they had a huge field of tanks and cannons, but Oklahoma is still in 100 degree and above weather so we avoided it. Although I am bummed we didnt check it out.

Like I said yesterday a few of our friends from Fort Riley were doing training with P here and a few had just moved here. So we got to hang out and reminice on old times at Fort Riley. I'll probably always miss that place...I made some great friends there.

We drove to OKC to eat at our favorite resturant in Manhattan, KS called HuHot! Mongolian BBQ! Oh its delish! Evelyn loved it! Then we went to Jamba Juice! The things the East Coast doesnt have astonishes me! I love Jamba Juice!!

P came back to the hotel room for lunch the day we left, and we got to take a million and one pictures. I got a new phone since the last time we were together so I needed some. I love to show Evelyn pictures of her Daddy so it was needed!
P left me with the car so I could run to the Commisary and get a few things for the plane. What he didnt know was I went and got him a ton of treats and drinks for him to enjoy himself. I usually like to assume that he is sad when I leave...and by that I mean like in the movies where they cry and cry! But my husband isnt like that. He is sad we left but he knows we only got a few more weeks left. But he got comfort food anyways!
I put sushi and dr. pepper in the fridge for him.
Now Evelyn and I are back in Utah...finishing up our final weeks of this 3 month seperation. I'm very blessed to of had a Mom who paid for Ev and I to go see P for a few days! I seriously have the best parents ever. I'm super glad she's coming back to NC with me for 10 days! because we recently found out that P will be going to the field right after he gets yay for another week seperted. I love the damn army. LOL. But I am glad to have someone there to keep my company and someone to show around!

Rude Remarks.

Something has been on my mind for a few days...

When I was in Oklahoma a few of our friends had just moved down to Ft. Sill and we were able to visit them for a little while. It was a lot of fun..also brought up memories of why I am glad we moved away from some of those people. But in the end it was alot of fun.

One of our friends had to take me to the airport in OKC, which was fun! The whole ride we talked about having babies and such. This woman is not a mom. She wants to finish school and I think the idea of being a parent generally scares her. But I had, had 2 friends have kids in the time period I was in Oklahoma and it sorta just came up. As we were talking the woman said...

"Evelyn is seriously my Birth Control"

...At first I didnt think much of this. But as I sorta had time of the plane rides to think I started to think of how rude that was. I get that my child is into everything, especially in a Non-Baby Proof house, but I generally am helping her learn to not play with certain things. But when you have wine glasses on a shelf near the floor, she's probably gonna go check them out.

I dont like that she refured to my kid as her birth control either. I get it if you dont want to have children, now or ever. I dont judge you on that. But dont tell me that my kid doesnt want to make you have kids. My child is an angel the majority of the time, in a home and a space she knows. But you take her into someones house that she's never been in before then yes she is going to want to explore. She is 13 months old! Its natural she's learning her world and her boundries.

I have friends that never want kids, or friends that are just not ready and thats their choice. Sometimes I dont understand but I get that its not their cup of tea at the moment. But thats all you have to say...dont refure to someone elses kid as birth control. Its rude.

Evelyn can drive me nuts but I love her to death! She is just learning and I know it wont be this hectic forever. She will learn her boundries and she will learn to ask about if she can play with things or not. Until then its her learning and exploring and me following her all over telling her not to touch hot or dangerous things. Its still super fun!

back in Utah.

I'll write about my trip to Oklahoma in a bit...just getting Evelyn and I back to the norm for the next few weeks and getting everything put away! Until then here's a photo of us :)

the chair climb.

Since Evelyn discovered how to climb up on chairs and couches there have been bruises all over the top of her head. Its been a ball.

I mean that too. As sucky as it is to hear Evelyn cry because she fell from wiggling too much, or while she was climbing she slipped at bonked her head I also know this is a learning experience for her.

Dont worry hastey quick to judge other's moms...I am right there or someone else is. Usually she doesnt fall but she has her moments where she does. Sometimes I am lucky enough to catch her or I take my eyes off her for a second and I miss her. I dont litterally let her hit her head on purpous so she'll learn a lesson. After a kiss and a hug she is right back to climbing her chair and conquoring the next object.
It is pretty fun to watch her. Currently as I write this she is behind me trying to climb my mom's office chair, having a hard time since the thing moves. Oh well what do you know shes up!

See what she did? such a big girl! since Evelyn has now conquered how to sit in her seat, and how to get out of it. I am now starting to love this little mini toddler stage. Its a blast...but so were all the other stages. She is just getting too big too fast!

Show & Tell! Fall is in the Air!

1. Tell us what you are looking forward to this fall?

Halloween is my favorite Holiday! If you follow me on Instagram you know I have been working on my Halloween decor crafts for a few weeks!
I also love the cooler weather! I am not a Summer heat kinda gal.

2. Show us your fall style.

If you know me I am very simple! I havent done the scarf thing, but in my journey to becoming more of a Mom then a "i wear my band shirts" kinda gal this is my new style! Wearing Cover-Overs over my beloved tank tops is definitly me!

3. Tell us your favorite things to do in the fall. If you have children, activities to do with the kids?

Evelyn last year was 4 months old so we didnt do too much. I plan on getting Evelyn alot more involved in pumpkin carving...or just playing in the goo! One day I hope we can make it a tradition to put up decor together like I did with my mom. Of course I am hoping Evelyn will want to go the corn fields and play in the leaves! I'll just have to see what they have in NC this year.

4. Show us your favorite fall beverage.

I dont have one yet! I am not a coffee person so Starbucks flavors are a big no.
But thank to Pintrest I got a ton of Pumpkin drinks to try very soon!!
5. Tell us, how you will be participating in halloween this year. Plans? Costume ideas?

I really tried to talk P into dressing up as Peter Pan and I'd dress up at Wendy Darling, but he wasnt having it. But Evelyn is going to be Tinkerbell! Next year she probably wont want to let me pick her costume, or at least she'll have more of an opinion.
I go all out for Halloween so we are going to just take Evelyn to a few friends houses to
trick-or-treat then head home and pass out candy! We dont want to be the house that is decorated and then no one is home to give out candy.
P and I will probably end up watching Dexter while passing out the candy! I hope that we have more then 1 trick-or-treater this year!
