My First's

My First's

I saw a couple bloggers doing this and enjoyed reading their posts so I thought I'd do the same

1. First thing you do when you wake up in the morning.

Cuddle in my covers, check the time. Check my alerts on my phone,

make bed, grab Evelyn and start the day.

2. First thing you do when you get home from work

I don't work...but when Evelyn is in bed, I lounge in front of the TV

and get some time in with the hubster.

 

 

3. First kiss

Umm...my neighbor Robert kissed me when I was 6.

First like...make out? lol. Umm..I was 14? with my "boyfriend" Frank.

4. First home

My family and I lived in Utah, and I didnt really move out till I got married.

So Junction City, Kansas was the first place I lived.

 

5. First car

This super crappy ford taurus my grandpa owned.

It died everytime I hit the break too hard.

 

6. First car accident/ traffic violation

...I gotta say...I was 13? I got mad at my brother and went to go get my mom at church,

took her car and when I pulled back into the drive way I ran it into my Grandpas truck.

Evelyn wont be learning to drive till she is 16.

7. First thing you wanted to be when you grew up

I think a dentist...because my friend wanted to be one.

Ice Cold Pepsi!

As far as Military goes, we want to go anywhere from Hawaii, Washington and Colorado. But if I had any option, I'd pick Austrailia and France.

What is the one thing you love about military life?

I think its actually the adventure of moving. I never moved until I was married, and ever since then I've never been in one place for more then a year! It seems like a pain but so far I've really enjoyed moving alot! I love the idea of moving every few years, but I'm sure I'll regret that when Evelyn is a little older.

What is your fav thing so far about NC?!

I actually love living where we do! I'm 2 hours from the beach, and I dont have to drive 1 to 2 hours to go to a decent mall like we did in Kansas. But one of the best things about living here is that they have some amazing tempetures...besides summer with all that humidity, lucky for the neighborhood pool just down my street. Seriously you have summer weather for almost half the year or longer! And as much as I miss the snowy winters of Utah, its been kind of nice to have 70 degree temps in December :)

5 Wishes!!

The lovley Jen over at The Adventures of Our Army Life tagged me in this post called 5 Wishes...pretty much what are my five wishes for the upcoming year. I am personally hoping 2013 is a big one for us, so I have many wishes but I'll limit them to 5 :)

1. To move closer to family: Its no secret we dont like living here at Fort Bragg, and with so many things going on with my side of the family I am definitly wishing I hadn't taken advantage of the time I had living in Kansas. 16 hour drive is way better then a 24 hour drive.

2. Lose my weight!: I have always struggled so bad with weight, and its always been a problem with the girls in my family. I have been told by my doctors not to get pregnant with baby #2 until I lose some weight since I have back problems (from big boobs), I would love to start trying for #2 towards the end of the 2013 so I have some time but the sooner I start the better!

3. Get better at saving!: Thats one of P's and I's main goal! We need to get better at it.

4. Do better at blogging: Its no secret on this either, I've struggled a little more since getting back from Utah. But I know the reason why I do struggle is because I have a toddler and my life cannot be set on blogging anymore.

5. Be a better cook and baker: I already rock at basics. I need to start making my own recipes! :)

Questions for Christmas

Apperently my blogger decided to unfollow Taingamala, but I had seen a link up she did floating around...so even though I am like 2 weeks behind I decided to do it! I love these things!

When do you start decorating for Christmas?
I always start the weekend after Thanksgiving. One holidays decor goes down so the other one goes up! I love to live and breathe my holidays as long as I can.

Christmas attire, casual or dressy?

Casual! I cant stand being fancy for anything thats not super fancy. I love comfort!

 

Best gift you ever received?

My engament ring!! 3 years ago on Christmas! Cant you believe it?! I cant!

 

Worst gift you ever received?

I used to hate my moms gifts to me. She always bought me horrible clothes. Though they have the video of me when I am like 3 and I was a HUGE Little Mermaid fan, and my parents gave me The Jungle Book, I threw it to the side and walked away. What a brat I was!

 

Snow, love or hate?

LOVE and MISS!! I'm hoping next year I can have a white Christmas.

FAKE! One time payment and I'm done and it last longer and no clean up. My husband hates this but hey! I like not having to do more then I have to.

No :( I wish I did. My mom go rid of all my old ones.

 

Family traditions?

Christmas PJ's on Christmas Eve! This year we are doing a movie night, crockpot hot chocolate, marshmallows, candy, junk food, and a movie!

Also we have a big family breakfast! and have lunch at Grandmas

 

The easiest and hardest people to buy gifts for?

I am the hardest to buy for. I buy what I want...so good luck getting me something.

Easiest...my sister cause she doesnt care.

 

Do you open presents Christmas Eve or Christmas?

Only open PJ's on Christmas Eve. Everything else is opened on Christmas.

 

Clear or colored lights?

I love Clear! But Colored looks awesome on the outside of the house.

 

Travel or stay home?

Stay home. But I wish I was going home this year!

 

Themed or homey decorations?

Homey decor! I like themed trees and such, but most of my stuff has been given to me by family members. I like the idea of passing this stuff onto Evelyn one day.

Our Love Story

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

In September it will be 4 years!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

I actually came to Fort Riley, KS to visit a friend who's husband was about to deploy. They wanted to show me around Post and I agreed. We started off at the PX and when we went in through the doors there he was! Dirty white shirt and jeans...buying a bottle of liquor no less (or surprise). I had an instant shock through my body and I blushed as he stared at me. I knew I'd never have the courage to talk to him, so I kept walking when he suddendly struck up a conversation with my friends husband! NUTS! He introduced himself and then he said we should all hang out!

It took some talking into since the boy my friends wanted me to "date" was the hub's roomate! But I seriously was not interested! When the hubs came over it was a party atmosphere and we had a few drinks. While everyone was outside smoking he decided to come in and talk to me, and right there is where we had our first kiss!

We spent as much time as we could together before he deployed, which was only weeks away when I met him, but as you all know by now the rest is history!

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

We've been married 2 years!

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

We got married in my hometown in Utah, in the courthouse, 5 days after we got engaged! I wouldnt of had it any otherway!

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

HAHA when we were dating, I used to call him Hot Potato and he called me Yammie Pie...I dont know why we ever did that!

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

1. He love Evelyn and I more then anything on this earth! He is honestly my hero in many ways! He will do anything to make his girls happy!

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

He proposed on Christmas Morning at his mothers house in California. Apperently my ring was in my stocking that I had been sleeping by the WHOLE time. After I got up to go to the bathroom, we were laying in bed cuddling and I could feel him fidget with something when I finally grabbed his hand and there it was! He whispered in my ear "will you marry me?" and I whispered back "YES!"

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

BOTH! He knows I love flowers! On our first Valentines Day he was in Iraq and I worked for the married girls, and I recived a HUGE pink monkey, red roses and red gerber daisys and tonz of chocolate! Last year I jsut recived roses and chocolate since I was pregnant I didnt even eat the chocolate, it made me sick. But he has given me rose petals, strawberrys and champagne for our Anniversary.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Pop in a movie! Although I love those romantic moments on the beach we had in Hawaii

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

Travel the world! We both would love to have unlimited funds to do that!

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

Well this Valentines Day we have decided to stay in with Evelyn and Put her in bed and do our favorite date night, stay up and play video games together. I am making a red velvet cheesecake and he'll be on the grill making steaks. We do it at least once a month and its our favorite!

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

I hint to a video game I want. Mario Party. But I wouldnt really care if I got it. Its just amazing to be together this year!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

from a Military Wives perspective...never EVER take advantage to having him home with you. I love the quote that says: Love Like He's Deploying Tomorrow. Its true! We never know when they will come home and tell us that news. I'll never take advantage of him being home ever again.

7. Has your spouse ever been deployed? Twice. Iraq: October 2008 - September 2009 & Iraq: November 2010 - October 2011...Ya I know!

8. Ever been to his promotion ceremony? Never been to one since he was promoted twice in Iraq.

9. How long have you been a military wife? 2 years!

10. Did you marry him before or after he joined? After :)

11. How did your husband propose? Christmas morning laying in bed together and he pulled my ring out of my stocking!

12. Where did you get married? Courthouse in my hometown.

13. How old were you two when you got married? I was 20 and he was 22.

14. Did he wear his uniform on his wedding day? Nope. We got married 5 days after getting engaged

15. Where are you and your spouse currently stationed? Currently in Fort Riley, Kansas and PCS'ing to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in March!

17. How long were you married when you had to go through your first separation? 5 months when he left for 2 weeks for field training.  7 months he had Deployment Training for a month and 11 months he deployed.

18. What is your favorite base so far? I've only been at Fort Riley.

19. Do you think your spouse looks good in his uniform? yumm yes.

20. Do you think military life is more advanced than civilian life? No?

21. Do you like the benefits you receive as a military dependent? Of course! I never compalin about it.

22. Do you have a lot of military wife friends? Nope! and it doesnt bother me too much.

23. What is the hardest part of the military life? Saying goodbye!

24. Do you own military wife stuff? No. I have a decal for my car and thats about it.

25. Do you support your spouse as a member of the military? Of course! I am so proud of him and his accomplishments!

What If's

I've seen this post get passed around from GI Wife to Guinn and Bare It...so here I go!! :)



What if I were to get pregnant? Right now? Ummm...I'd be super pissed. I cant wait to have another child...BUT, I just had one. Little too close in age for me...give me another year.

What if I could have any job in the world? I actually have no idea what I would do. Thats why I didnt go to school...I know I wanna be a stay at home mommy and I love it! Though sometimes I wish I had a break!

What if I had a day all to myself? I'd be in heaven!...for about 5 hours then need to call a girlfriend to go out for drinks! I havent had one of those days in a long time!

What if I could get married all over again? I would love to get married again...I used to hate that we went to the courthouse and got married...5 days after getting engaged..but I really do enjoy how we did it. But it really sucks I never got that wedding experience. I think every girl wishes they had the white dress.

What if I could live anywhere in the US? NORTH CAROLINA!! WOO HOO cant wait till April!!

What if I were to have more children?  I'd love to have more babies!!

What if I could have any talent in the world? To be a beautician! I think I spelled that wrong? but I have no idea how to even braid!! Evelyns not gonna like that!

What if you met me in real life? You'd think I am pretty open and nice. I do everything I can for my friends. I'll be nice to you, but I'll be blunt.

What if I went back to school? I'd die. I hate school.

What if money weren't an object?  I'd buy us a home in Hawaii and a plane so we could fly home whenever we felt like it...I miss Hawaii!

What if I could meet one celebrity? ummm....I think I'd be interested in Kathreine Higel. I like her alot!

What if I could only shop at one store for the rest of my life? Old Navy!..or JC Pennys

What if I could choose an animal/pet? I am not an animal person. I love them! just hate to take care of them.

What if I could go on a trip right now? England!!! for sure!!

What if I had to choose between a house cleaner and professional chef? Chef...I love to cook but I am so over it right now!

What if I had the option to get plastic surgery? BOOBS!!! everyone says "i'd love to have big boobs"...I have a size G...NO WAY they hurt they suck they get in the way! no. I'd rather be back to a C or D cup.

2. What branch of service is your husband? Army

3. Active/Reserve? Active

4. What is his job? Field Artillery (going Airborne)

5. How many deployments have you gotten through? Currently on our Second deployment in 3 years.

6. What do you like about being a Military wife?  Pretty much everything! I mean deployments suck pretty bad! But I love the friendships and the lifestyle.

7. Do you live on base? Not currently but we will in a month

8. What is your favorite base so far? Only been at Fort Riley.

9. What’s the hardest part of the military life? deployments...bar none!

10. Do you go to the grocery store or commissary? I go to Hyvee and Commissary. It depends on what we need.

11. Do you work or stay at home? Stay at home.

12. Do you have a lot of Military wife friends? Lots in the bloggin world! but at Riley not many.

13. Do you prefer walmart or the PX/BX,MCX or NEX? Walmarts way cheaper.
