My Dinning Room

I was super excited to see another army wife blog about her dinning room. Its a little thing on the blog Kelly's Korner, where you can just post it up. It to me looks like a weekly thing, which is awesome for me because my awesome mother just sent me Halloween Decorations, so I thought I would do that as well. I have some before Halloween and After :)

BEFORE HALLOWEEN
This is our center piece. I made it myself for 30$ :)
We have a dark wood round table with nice chairs
which will be shown bellow!

AFTER DECORATING
The arrangment is one my husband gave me last year for halloween
we had to be in different states at the time and I just love it!!!
So right now this is what it looks like.
Not too much but I think it looks pretty nice!
Nice little area, perfect for just us two and a guest or two.

I would love to know if any of my fellow readers do this. Its always fun to see what other people have done with their homes. It gives you lots of creative ideas! My husband really got to decorate our living room, but gave me permission to change it up a bit while he is away. I cant wait to start doing those things again! In a new home!!

Gleek Out!

I have to admit...I have never seen one Glee episode, well until today! I decided because I am such a 90's fan and early 00's?? fan I HAD to watch the Britney Spears episode of Glee. Everyone constantly talks about how awesome this show is. Well, I love it!!! I want to buy the first season and see the Lady GaGa episode! I wonder if they will do an NSYNC or BACKSTREET BOY'S one?!?!? Oh and Brittany is my favorite. :)

Trees for Troops Cause Ends Today

New Girl On Post is promoting Trees For Troops on her blog, and I had seen it but never read it before, so since the hubby cannot come home and give me the car till after work, I thought I would read every little thing! It looks like a realy great cause! We all know us military families, especially those with loved ones gone, during the holiday season need a HUGE pick me up during the holiday seasons. So here is a little information on the cause..

"Trees for Troops helps to make the holidays a little brighter for military families - especially those who are far away from their families. The gift of real Christmas trees bring a touch of home to those who sacrifice in order to preserve our freedom. The trees serve as a token of love and appreciation... Many tell us that the gift of a tree frees up a few dollars to be used on gifts, a nice holiday meal or gas money to go visit family."

The trees are delivered for free by FedEx, and will be given out to thousands of military families at bases all over the country during the holiday season. The Pepsi funding would allow them to reach an additional 5,000 families this year, but we need more votes! Voting for the Pepsi funding ends September 30th, but donations will of course be accepted for the rest of the year."

Q and A

I was just catching up on my fellow Military Wife bloggers and GI Joe's Wife got to answer a few questions which were really fun to read! She gave her readers a few questions, and because I am still new to this blog and want to answer a few, so my readers can get a little more personal with me. If you want to do these I would love to read your answers, just let me know and your blog URL.

1. What is your least favorite chore? Why?
I gotta say cleaning my bathrooms. I have a 2 1/2 bath house and thank goodness I only have to do the 1 1/2. But its feels like such a pain for a little room.

2. If you were to get a tattoo (hypothetically, ladies) what would you get?
I actually already have a tattoo. I got one in December (before my wedding) and I do love it, although sometimes its a shock to see it
since its on my left shoulder blade. Its after my sisters and I, my Older sister "S" would be the purple flower, and she passed away 10 years ago, the red one is for me, and the pink one is for my little sister "A" who is mentaly and physically handicapped. Its a nice way for me to honor both of them. But as far as getting another one, I am not too sure, I want to get a music one, to also honor my dad. I am exactly like him! We both love our music, but I am not sure. Lizards have came into my head since thats my nickname.

3. Everyone asks about your favorite ___ memory... I want to hear about your worst vacation memory. Someone got sick, someone was an idiot - go! =)

My worst vacation was a very short one...Its not too bad of a story, my nephew "Big Mac" and my brother "T" lived in Maine and came out to visit us, and my husband was deployed so we went to Moab, Utah which is one of my favorite places! Its a huge playground! My nephew was only 7 and he hated girls, I was the only girl with both my brothers, my dad, and "big mac". I usually let it brush off because I knew he is a kid and doesnt mean it, but he made me cry after a long hike to the top of this beautiful Arch, he told my little brother I wish Liz would fall off this mountain, "G" (my little brother) told "Big Mac" to watch his mouth and I took "Big Mac" aside and told him to stop disrespecting me, that he lives so far away and I miss him so much, which now you should know 'Big Mac" lives in Sweden at the moment, of course his dad took him and told him to knock it off! It got better after that, but it will be a memory I'll never forget. I cant wait till he starts dating that I can finally get back at him, not too much though. ;)

4. What is your favorite Disney movie?

Ok if you grew up with me, you would know I was a Disney FREAK! I absolutly wanted to be a mermaid, and at one point I was convinced I was a slave in the house and had to hand wash the floors. Of course my siblings who were 9 and 13 years older then me helped encourage that. But my absolute favorite is The Little Mermaid, I love love LOVE the show still, and I can't wait to get my own little girl to have more of an excuse to watch the movie on a daily basis.

5.What does your dream house look like?

A colonial house. White with black shutters. At this point I would settle for a yard, but my husband and I have awesome ideas for a house like that! It is going to be more then 10 years down the road, and we still have no idea where we want to end up at after the Army, but we both have BIG PLANS.

6. Flashback moment: Were you a Backstreet Boys fan or an NSYNC fan? =)

NSYNC all the way!  I did love the backstreet boys too, but my older sister and I always listened to them, and I have the funniest memory's of her dancing to Bye Bye Bye.

7. What is your favorite board game?

CLUE. I want to own the game so bad, I always sucked but its so cool. The movie is pretty awesome too :)

8. If you could relive just one day in your life, what would it be?

I don't think I have ever been asked that. If I could change how the day went it would be my 10th birthday party, it was only a few days before my sister died and I wish I had done so many things different, don't get me wrong I didnt do anything wrong, I just wish I had spent more time with her and I had gotten to know her better. But in the end I just wish I could see her smiling and laughing again. I hear alot that I look exactly like her and I have her smile so that helps with it alot. Yes, I believe that's the day I would love to relive. That way I could cherish the moment more.

So if any of you wish to do this, I would love to read your answers! Thanks for reading and Happy Blogging to everyone!

On VS Off

Now I have plenty to say about living on post or off post. More or less I think they both have their ups and downs, but here at FR I have been DYING to move out of our house and onto the post. The waitlist here is for about 6 months, and we have been on since July. In the time I have been counting the days! I am checking the number we are on almost everyday. I cannot wait to move.
We live in JC, which isnt as bad as everyone thinks it maybe, and closer to post then MHTN...but I can say even though my little townhouse is big and nice and I normally wouldn't mind it....I cannot stand my neighbors!
I dont know them, and I dont talk to them, its what they are doing on the other side of the wall that gets my blood rising. Its constant bangs and slams, they have even knocked things off my wall! I know it comes with living in a fourplex, but seriously I think they take it too far, my other side I never hear them except on rare occasions.
Now I cant say for sure if FR can offer me any better, but I am super excited to live on my first military installation. My friends who live on post say they never hear their neighbors so I am hoping its the same with me, but until that day I will be up blogging at 11:30 at night. At least my husband can sleep through this!

WELCOME

Hello Anybody and Everybody!

As you can tell, this is a new blog! I have been contemplating for a few months on wether to do this blog or not. I love to write and I read plenty of other Military Wives blogs, that I decided to start my own. Let me introduce myself.

My name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls me Liz. I married my Hubbers, December 2009 in my hometown in Utah. We met like alot of military couples do, they were in the service. I was visiting some friends here at FR, when I ran into Hybbers at the PX. No one really wanted me to meet him, but I didnt care, I managed to get my friends to invite him over and from then on it was history! Hubbers has been in the service for 4 years now with one deployment under his belt, and another one coming up. I do strongly urge you not to forget OPSEC. I admit sometimes I forget, but its very important with this being a public blog.

Right now I am a housewife, or I guess you could call me Household 6 Wife and I really enjoy it! I have never not lived with my parents so I am enjoying this experience. I am loving being a cook, it brings out so much in me that I never knew existed. My husbands a good sport when I make new things, and always gives me his honest opinion, and as soon as I get this blog handled and situated I'll post recipes!

I know a lot of people think it might be horrid that we have no kids and I do not work, but I have plenty of other things to do that make this feel like work! I run this entire house, I do all the cooking, cleaning and the shopping. This house is organized to the "T" because of it, and before my husband leaves, I get to spend every moment with him, when he is not working. I really do enjoy it!

I'll be making sure to update this every few days as we prepare and deal with the emotions of this unquie life we live. I would love to follow and read your blogs too, just follow and comment me and I'll add you to my readers list. I hope you all have a wonderful day, and Happy Blogging!
