Check Up.

Evelyn had her 6 month check up today, and I cant get things off my mind, so when in doubt and need comfort or advice...BLOG.

Our doctor said Evelyns development is fantastic! BUT, when she started to ask how the standing was. Well Evelyn is on her tippy toes alot and her right foot bends a little when she puts weight on it. So my doctor asked us to take her bouncer away and see if it helps. It sucks because Evelyn LOVES her bouncer, she can spend a good hour in it.

So I have to admit I am sad the bouncer is about to go away. No worries I am taking it away because it needs to be done, but it was a nice little babysitter when I needed to get things done. Thankfully the doctor told us we could, use an Exersauser because it keeps her feet flat. My awesome friend has grown up kids so she is giving us hers, which saves us a pretty penny!

Evelyn is also not interested in sitting up. Even propped up or in her bumbo, she cant stand to be sitting up. She loves to stand just hates to sit up. This causes another problem. So if she doesnt get better she'll be in physical therapy

In all honesty it scares me that something could be wrong. It would be a physical thing, but it would still be hard to deal with. I know that if I work extra hard with her I can get her doing things better. But Evelyn is a stubborn baby and I am not sure how shes going to do with me pushing her so hard. She likes to be free and independant and do what she feels like doing! She doesnt want to sit up and work on keeping her feet planted on the ground. I know I have to make her though.

I just need to feel like she'll be fine. I am very grateful its not something mentally or even worse physically and this is a problem we can work on together and get her better even if we have to go to physical therapy I will be more then happy to work with her harder .

I have a mentally and physically handicapped sister, so I do know a few things about this stuff and I do know its not all bad. But I just never thought I'd hear that for my own daughter.

I know its mild. I know if I push her hard I can probably get her doing better, if not physical therapy isnt bad. Just sucks. Hopefully I can get Evelyn working good again, and doing better.

Goodbye Bouncer.

"umm, ok?"

I guess I am having one of those days. Latley I feel myself saying this all the time!

Saturday night my husband decided to go mudding at 3pm...well 5:30 rolls around and I get a call saying they are stuck, but no worry they called friends to come help them get out of the mud. A few more hours go by and they cant get out and have to call a tow truck, not to mention the other persons jeep gets stuck. Turns out the truck they were in was so lop sided that one wheel was off the ground and so far deep into the mudd you couldnt see the headlights. So I asked my husband why they did this...and he said it was just a little puddle....by a lake..."umm, ok?" and they decided to go through it. Well it wasn't JUST A PUDDLE. I am just glad it wasn't our car, or our money!

Then a friend asks me today if I can baby sit her daughter for a few hours...usually I dont ask why but given that I had plans on the day to get more things ready to PCS, I asked...."oh I need to go tan"..."umm, ok?" So now not only do I not get to go do my things I need to do before we PCS, such as oil changes and talking to transportation. I will now either be draggin her daughter around + my daughter, or not getting anything done! Normally I would be able to get it done on another day but my parents arrive on Wenesday, and our Ball is on Thursday and my parents dont leave until the 30th, when I should have turned in my 30 day notice. I am on a schedule people! I dont have time to watch your kid so you can go tan. MMkay.

I realize I have my nerves up, and yes you'll notice it. But I have never PCS'ed before, and I am freaking out! Not to mention....Evelyns got her 2 top teeth coming down, you know how I mentioned teething was...how did I put it???..oh "a piece of cake!"....LIES ALL LIES!!!

Ahhh. Hopefully for better days.

Offical

(question at end of post)
Hubs got a call from Fort Bragg Picerne saying we have a house!! We are living on post since he has 2 different trainings to do when he gets to Bragg, such as Airborne training and ALC, So I will be home alone alot and as excited as we were looking at homes to rent off post, the worse I felt about how I know I'd feel being in an area alone.
If you'd like to know where we applied to live in Bragg just ask and I'll let you know.

The house we're going to live in is a single home, which is great! I am excited to have a home with no one I dont know 10 feet away. Our housing also goes off rank, unlike what it does here, so Hubs can make friends his rank. Our neighbors are all PVT's and he is an SSG so it doesnt work too good.

Anyways! I am still freaking out about the move but that made me really happy and excited that we could get the house we want and it will be waiting for us!

Can anyone give me advice on how everything will work when the Army moves us? I've never PCS'ed before and neither has my husband. Anyone got tips for us?

Anxious.

So I have mentioned before that we're PCS'ing to Fort Bragg, North Carolina in March...looking like March 10th. I have been wanting to go to North Carolina for a long time! I have been excited about moving...BUT the last few days I have felt my anxiety level rise.

I guess mostly its because I have really good friends here finally! I love my house and I finally feel settled. Now I am about to move for the 4th time in 2 years and I am scared. Yepp scared. My doctor has given me xanax because I do have anxiety at night time especially. But I am now more nervous then ever.

I am sure I am not the only one who is scared to leave behind a good life and start a new life somewhere else. I am ready to leave Kansas behind, but I am not ready to leave my friends.

I am scared that I will get to North Carolina and have no friends. I am not the most open person, and I know how some Army Wives can be. Plus it doesnt help that my husband is a 24 (almost 25) E6 and most E6's are older and so their wives and kids are older. So I have no idea how this is going to work! My husband is NOT one of those guys that only hangs out with his rank dudes. He hangs out with E5's and even one E4 as long as he's not their NCO. But I dont know how this is going to work.

Plus...I have no idea if I should even plan Evelyn a birthday party. :( We are planning on taking her to Disney World which would be a birthday thing...and I will be home in August for a month and we'll be throwing her a party then too. But none for Hubs and I? I am conflicted.

My body is not accepting this very well, I am certain that I am about to loose a ton of weight because I have so much stress and worry going through my body, over something I cannot control.

Speaking of non controlling...I am pretty sure that the Unit my husband is joining is deployed right now, which means no deployment for a while, which I NEED! 2, 12 month deployments in 3 years, ya we need a break! But what if something happens?

Yepp...I am in a sea of "what if's". I am not crazy to be so anxious right??

Teeth!

Now I have heard the horror stories of teething. The baby staying up all night screaming their heads off, no way to calm them down. Those stories...let me tell you my story.

Teething...was a piece of CAKE! Evelyn must love to sleep because she didnt wake up all night screaming or nothing. I was fully prepared to be awake all night when we found her teeth starting to break through. I took the portacrib downstairs, because the husband had work and needed to sleep, and I slept on the couch and made Evelyn very comfortable. I had already bought her teething tablets and Day & Night Oragel. It took a while to get her to sleep but I made sure to give her tylenol and the oragel, and she went to sleep pretty good. She was a little fussy in her sleep but nothing her binkie couldnt handle.

After 3 days the 2 bottom teeth finally popped out!...
She did awesome! I am so proud of how she did with this! I know I got very lucky with her. I cna only hope that she does this good with all the other 25 teeth!

New!

We have a few new additions to our household! No not pregnant again...yepp a little too early for that. No animals either, not ready for those. But we have a few new household items!

Hubby and I have been really looking into re-doing some furniture in our house...as in "selling and buying" re-doing.

We have had this red couch since we got married. My husband insisted on buying a red couch, I threw my hands up in the air and let him buy it...well I've always hated the damn thing. Theres only so many decor options with a red couch. We finally decided to sell the damn thing and buy a new one. We used the money from selling the red couch to put down on a new couch...well within a matter of 1 hour the couch was sold so we had no couch...but not to fear the next day we went out and found this beauty!!
I am now aware everything in my living room is BROWN, so decor will be re done when we move. We were lucky enough to take this right off the floor! The original couch we picked was amazing, it was brown leather and you could change it from a sectional to a love seat and sofa! Perfect for a military family, but the couch wouldnt be in for at least 30+ days! My parents are coming on the 25th so that just was not going to work. I am happy we picked this couch! Its not to big or too small.

The other new thing in our house is just bedding for our Guest Bedroom. As I just said my parents are coming on the 25th and we havent done anything with our "guest room" right now its not technically a guest room, its a sunroom but we had a guest bed so we just made it into a room, and because its right next to our living room most of Evelyns toys go in there. Hubs has been conviced that we need something warmer for my parents since its surrounded by windows. So I started looking online (LOVE) and found an amazing site called kinglinen.com and I bought a 225.00 bed set for 79.99! I wish this was our bedset but here it is!

Its from Hotel Collections and I really do love it! Once again nothing matches but just something else to look for once we move! :)

Dont you just love having your own home??

Adventures in Baby Food.

So as I said before, Evelyn is now on baby food! We have just been giving her Gerber Stage 1 baby foods since we dont have a food processor at the moment, and shes been doing very well with it. I am pretty proud!
She hated the rice cereal and when we went on leave a few people told us to try bananas. So when we got back to Kansas we went to the store and bought some. Not to our surprise Evelyn wasnt a fan at first, but we knew it was new to her so we kept trying. She caught onto opening her mouth for the spoon and started to slowly swallow.
Now shes almost a champ at it! She moans and groans and kicks when she wants more, its so adorable!
The only thing she cant stand to eat is Squash. I cant blame her too much on that one! But shes done very well and seems to love carrots and any of the fruits we give her. Baby girl is growing up SO fast!

The Hunger Games

YES! I know I am late on the band wagon. I have been told for about a year to read this book, but the name didnt seem like something I would be interested in, boy...I was wrong!

This book is better then Twilight. It took me a flippin month to read it, only because the husband hates when I read, and I had the baby and leave on my hands. I read the very end within a matter of hours! I made the hubby take the baby off my hands.

I would recommend this book to anyone! My whole family loved it! and believe me we're a bunch of freaks.

I know the movie is coming out in March and sadly the Hubs and I move to North Carolina in March, I am hoping before we leave we can go out to see it together, because I know we wont have a baby sitter in NC. I hope I can see it in theaters! ("may the odds be in your favor....")

So if you like adventure thrown in with a little romance and danger, I would recommend this book!! If you havent seen the trailer for the movie yet click here

BTW if you have read the book and want to hear a song from the movie click here!

Back to the Norm.

30 Days and 2 months of my husband being home have now passed. Wasnt that fast? He started going back to normal work days this morning. I wont denie...its flipping weird not having him here, as much as he drove me nuts! It was nice to have an extra hand with Evelyn.

But now that he is back its time for more Mommy & Daughter time. I am pretty pumped to start working with Evelyn on her feedings and her new schedule. She keeps me pretty busy, especially since after her 5am feeding she decided its time to get up and play. She's doing awesome at eating baby food! I was planning on making her own foods, but I cannot afford at this point to go buy a food processor. So I am buying gerber baby foods. She loves everything we give her EXCEPT Squash. She spit that out and made a HUGE mess.

I am really hoping I can get her on a good schedule. We kept her off a normal one since we we're almost constantly going right when Hubs got home. I have almost regretted it, but it really maximized our family time and that made it worth it!

I am so glad the C.O (commanding officer) kept his promise and maximized our time together. After a 12 month deployment thats so important. Those that dont get these long deployments will never understand. Your husbands miss so much especially when you have a newborn while he's away. I am so glad Hubs was here to watch Evelyn learn to roll around and blabber mouth all the time! She's even more interested into crawling, and its been a blast watching her try.

Well I got a baby who's mad she cant reach her toys so I better go. But here's a little photo of Miss Evelyn eating some Apples.

30 Days.

30 days is a long time! As much as I have enjoyed the time with my husband being on Leave for 30 days...I am ready for him to be doing something other then play video games and not helping out.
The first week we we're on vacation and he was helpful when we were packing around Evelyn. The 2nd week he was helpful. The 3rd week he slacked and now that we are on the last few days its NOTHING!
At night time we have little fights because I am sick of him sitting on the couch and not changing or feeding Evelyn. I know he needed a break, but COME ON! Nothing? No cooking? No little pick up? No putting things away?

He complains that I get after him about never cleaning bottles. He says just washing them out is just fine, which yes if need be a washed out bottle is fine if the others are dirty, but concidering we have 7 bottles, we dont have them all dirty at once very often. But using the same bottle constantly without washing. I dont know maybe I am a little anal, but we have clean bottles!

I am exhausted at the end of the day from constantly going and cleaning up ALL DAY long. I am just ready to get on a normal day...whatever those are.

...just so everyone knows, I am super happy to have him home.

Goals!

..not resolutions. I never saw the point. I never cared. My goals are pretty short term. Nothing wrong with short term goals, especially since a move is in 2 months!

1. Loose Weight:
Right now Hubs and I are starting to work out and eat better. I wont lie, I LOVE food! I hate the idea of not having a frozen milky way after a hard day. We watched a Doctumentry called; Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. If you've never watched it, I strongly suggest you do! We are inching our way closer to this diet/detox of ONLY 100% fruit and vegtable juices! I need to loose weight. Its unbelievable how much I have put on since the husbands 1st deployment! and we just finished our 2nd and the weight is still on me! So for right now we are exersicing. I am doing yoga and he is running. Plus replacing 1 meal a day with just fruit/vegtable juice!

2. Get More Organized!
I am pretty organized. I'll be the first to admit it, I know where every slip of paper is! But! You should see my basement. Its a wreck. I have been going through boxes after the move, trying to find the little things I need that ended up in some random box. So needless to say everything needs to be brought upstairs and re-organized!

3. Get better at saving!
I am not going to lie. The husband and I have done AWESOME at saving money, but we still allow ourselfs to dip into savings. We need the money for the move across the country. We need to keep money in there for retirment or emergancy. We dont have credit cards at all! Our bills are kind of outragous! I am ready to cancel cable. This last month we had Christmas which was a HUGE money sucker but we still managed to save money, and this paycheck we had our Anniversary. We spent more then we planned to but because Hubs wasnt here last year we both think its worth it. Sadly we couldnt save money after running out of eggs, from my husbands stupid cookin experient, to running out of baby food to my husband insisting we needed sushi! We needed to dip and so we did. We have enough gas, and I am not going ANYWHERE! Thank goodness the Ball is on the 26th and I have EVERYTHING paid for! Not a dime to spend on that!

4. Be a better Mommy.
I love Evelyn to death, but sometimes I find myself slacking in the Mom department. I play with her and feed her and change her and then sometimes I have a mental block and dont do anything with her. I have put off putting her on a schedule for a while! I finally decided it was time! Hubs is going back to work and I will have 12+ hours a day with her. I need to do it. So far its so good, though I dont know why she instists on only sleeping 25 minutes, twice a day. I am figuring it out...little by little.

5. Be a better Wifey.
The hubs and I do a good job at spending alone time together. We had our Anniversary alone, and we had friends take her for a couple of hours one day as well. We have "date nights" after the baby goes to sleep. Such as desert and wii games together. We enjoy it and we love it, but the last week we dont do that anymore. He wants some alone time and I do too after the baby goes down. But at 8 o'clock we are always in bed watching Dexter together. Its a great time for us both! Hopefully we can maximize our time outside of the TV and Dexter.

6. Get my own alone time once a day.
I need this one! I usually have the hubs watch Evelyn while I take a shower and then after the shower I read my book for a while. But I almost feel like its not enough. I should be doing more! Maybe a walk alone or sit outside and read.
