16 Weeks.

Hey everyone! Don't be mad! I have had a lot going on this last week so I swear I wont be just blogging pregnancy updates... especially with Evelyn's birthday tomorrow!!

How far along: 16 weeks!

Total weight gain: I had an appointment yesterday and I am -12 pounds. woo!...
Size and growth of the baby: Baby should be the size of an Avocado

Sex: No Idea. No Clue. BUT! I think we are finding out this upcoming week!!

Maternity clothes: I am in maternity pants now. I don't even bother with my regular pants.

Sleep: Sleep is awesome...when P is not in bed with me. Apparently I need all 4 pillows.

Best moment(s) of the week: My appointment yesterday. Even though I thought the office stunk, I was excited to meet my midwife...or I guess a Nurse Practitioner? Are they the same?

Food cravings/aversions: For a few days it was Chick Fil A. But now I am back to really nothing.. kinda depends on my mood.

Morning sickness: It comes and goes.
Labor signs: None at all!

Belly button in or out: In!

What I miss: Hmm, probably naps whenever I wanted them... but that wouldn't work anyways because I have Evelyn. HAHA. But I do miss not being s tired.
What I'm looking forward to: Evelyn's birthday! Learning the sex (We hope!)

15 weeks!

Hell everyone! I thought I did an update a bit ago... but I didn't.. I'll just blame Pregnancy brain, is that ok? You can check out my 15 week update with Ev right here!

How far along: 15 Weeks.

Total weight gain: I haven't weighed myself.
Size and growth of the baby: Baby should be the size of a Navel Orange!

Sex: No clue yet! I think we'll know by the end of the month! I've also had two dreams of it being a boy... so who knows?! any guesses?

Maternity clothes: Nope! But I am needing pants! I am living in sweats and yoga pants right now.

Sleep: I'm sleeping horrible. This baby is low riding it and my hips kill all night!

Best moment(s) of the week: flutters and such!

Food cravings/aversions: I just want Root Beer. I still want burritos but not all the time anymore. Nothing to do with spaghetti sauces or anything similar to it!

Morning sickness: Its chilled out the last week... so hopefully it stays that way.
Labor signs: None, thank goodness :)

Belly button in or out: In.

What I miss: good sleep! So badly!
What I'm looking forward to: My appointment this upcoming week!

I still don't see a bump...but I will keep taking photos and maybe later on I'll see a difference.

4th of July!

Hello everyone! We had a perfect day celebrating America's birthday! We have seriously not taken advantage of the beach too often this summer, and we decided that the 4th would be the perfect time! We headed down to Atlantic Beach and picked up P's friend who's in the USMC along the way. It was perfect!!

Evelyn loves her Uncle Preston, I mean seriously.. she thinks he's her boyfriend. Preston is happy to go along with it too. Before we went to the beach we checked into our hotel which was on the USMC Base, it was $30 a night, so no way we were passing that up! We got Evelyn down for a nap while the boys went to the grocery store and got stuff for a BBQ at a park. As hot as it was,  Evelyn didn't play too much at the park, but she had a blast running around under the covered patio. After that everyone went to their rooms and got ready to head to the beach!

We got to the beach at about 4. I was worried it was still going to be super hot, but it really was nice and cool. The water was perfect! Evelyn loved the water! I was so surprised how much she played in the water. After about an hour we all got out and decided to eat dinner, Evelyn ate fruit and made sure she got plenty of sand too. I had forgotten I can't eat lunch meat, and while I was just going to do it anyways a man selling Chick Fil A was walking around and P jumped at the chance to "save his unborn child's life" and bought me a sandwich. I wont deny it... it was pretty yummy!

We let Evelyn play in the sand while we all dried off and watched the sunset, when Evelyn wanted to go for a walk... as we walked around I noticed she was taking me straight back into the ocean... I was glad I brought an extra outfit at that moment because there was no stopping her from climbing right into the water. So I let her get soaked!
After she had ventured into the ocean again.

As soon as the sunset, we waited around for the fireworks show. It was kind of exciting, thinking about watching fireworks on the beach. I just thought about how romantic it would be! I mean sure Preston was there... but that's ok. It was everything I thought it would be!! Evelyn loved it! Perfect 4th of July!

Hiring a Doula

This pregnancy has brought up a lot of different emotions for me. For one.. when you find out you're having another baby a lot of things cross your mind. For one, for me at least I thought a ton about my birth experience with Evelyn. I don't at all regret being induced, P was on leave from Iraq and after 5 days of nothing happening and no process, ya I was ok with being induced so P could spend more time with her.

One thing I have hated about my birth experience was how drugged I was. I did not what so ever think I would have a 5 hour labor. I was totally mentally prepared for 16+ hours. Yepp I was, I had a ton of movies for my room, I packed P a bunch of snacks, I had books, ipods, stuff for me to do pain management in the shower.. but I didn't get to do any of that.

I went in the night before to be induced over night. I took an ambian because I knew I needed that sleep. I took it at 11pm.. and I woke up at 4:30 or 5 and I was in active labor. By 6am I was at 6 CM dialated. By 7am I was a 8 and by 8am I was pushing out a baby. I mean it went super fast! And that ambian didn't wear off.. plus the epidural.. ya I was pretty drugged. When they broke my water and they told me it was green, I didn't even comprehend what the hell that ment!

So this go around I have had a lot of time to think, and P has had more time to tell me... "ya that's so gross I don't want to watch again".. haha his choice. I however have decided I want to see... I hope I don't regret that haha. But because P is so uncomfortable with me in pain and seeing anything down there again I have decided to look into hiring a doula.

But what do you know... one of my new church friends IS a Doula! Now I haven't fully decided if I am indeed hiring her, if I am really even going to hire one, or if I just need to really train P to buck up. But I decided that I need to start looking into it. I'd love to do a natural birth, and I am not going to pressure myself too much. But if I can do it, I would be happy to do that for my baby and myself.

Now my question to my readers is what should I ask my friend about being a doula? What do you ask someone you're hiring to help you bring a baby into the world?! How do you go about this?
