A few weeks ago I wrote about our fun trip to The Pumpkin Patch!

Well on Sunday we decided to carve our pumpkins! Ended up being a good day to do it since we couldnt do our normal weekends with Evelyn, due to Hurricanne was just windy and cold and a tad bit rainy.

Evelyn wasnt interested at all in the carvings. At first she was kinda into it...and then she decided Tangled was better so she watched her movie while we carved.

I found out I can really ruin those carving knifes from walmart. Seriously I ruined 3 of them!

P did Evelyn's pumpkin. We thought Tinkerbell suited her since this year she is guessed it Fairy!! I was lucky he wanted to do it, cause it had lots of tiny pieces, so I did his pumpkin for him!

Harry Potter logo..Liz's pumpkin.
Tinkerbell...Evelyn's pumpkin
Vampire Jack-O-Latern P's Pumpkin

Do you like them? I dont think I have ever been more proud of pumpkins!

Show & Tell; How I Met Your Father

1. Tell us about how and when you met your love and what attracted you most to him.
I wrote this story a few weeks ago. But I guess I could share the quick version :)

I had flown to Kansas to meet up with one of my friends from Middle School who's husband was stationed at Fort Riley. We ended up going to the PX for some reason, and if you've ever been to the PX you know there is a little area before you walk into the actual PX. So rigt about there I saw this cute boy in a dirty white shirt and jeans, who caught my eye. I immediatly had a shock to the system, my heart skipped a beat and then he looked at me. I smiled and he smiled but I turned away because I'm so shy, and then all of a sudden he turns and says "hi thomas" (my friends husbands name) and said we should all hang out. I walked away and told my friend he was HAWT! He walked away and checked out my ass :)
A few days later he came over to a little party. and we ended up chasing eachother all night trying to see if we liked eachother, until finally he got tired of chasing me around and just kissed me :)

2. Show us the very first {or one of the first} pictures you guys ever took together. {Feel free to show us more than one}

Haha I have a photo from that night but I have no idea where it is...but this was taken a few days later...

3. Tell us some of your favorite memories that you two had together.

I love that after I left Kansas and he flew to California how much he talked to me, and he asked me to wait for him while he was deployed. ( I met him a month before he deployed)

I remember us trying to see eachother before he deployed. (I got to see him off)

I remember that I said I Love You first. I tried not to, but he was deploying and he didnt say it so after he left and I was crying I text him saying "I dont care if you dont say it...I love you." and he replied with "I love you too"

I remember being there when he came home and us leaping all of eachother finally getting to say I Love You face to face!

I remember talking about marriage. moving in together.

I remember after he deployed again telling him I was pregnant with baby #1!

I remember all of it.

4. Tell us your favorite qualities about this man, what makes him "the one."

He knows how sensitive I am, and can encourage me without making me feel like he is pushing me out the door. He handles me so well with all the baggage I come with. He is an excellent father. He tries so hard to give our family everything. He is so honest. Beyond caring.

5. Tell us what your "date nights" typically look like.

Haha we have date nights?? One of our date nights now is, a steak dinner with a desert, Evelyn in bed early and us playing Mario Party and watching our shows.

Our old date nights always consisted of dinner out at a resturant, netflix movies and junk!

Our big date nights huge dinner out, night at a nice hotel and lots of wine!!

Halloween Decor PT. 2

If you didnt check out yesterdays post for the inside of my house Click Here
I always concider the outside of the house to be important. You have to have a cool spooky outside. My house is personally not up to where I want it to be. I'd love to have a graveyard and maybe get a fog machine and hang something from the trees but this year it just was not within our budget to do it, but one year it will be the scariest house on the block!

This would be my main window. I love blood. I had these blood cling-on's in my window last year and just loved them! My little skull man in the window there lights up. My ghosts houl and light up as well. The skulls sticking out of the ground are supposta be lights but I dont have an outlet outside so they are just out for show. Like my spider? you ca get it at Target. There are huge spiders all over peoples houses in my neighborhood.

I love my front door! I love the spiders all over it. I love my new wreath I made this year, which I am sorry its hard to see the Sun was bright! Can you see the eyes? Best part of the whole wreath. I also love my little Frankie. My 1st Halloween decoration I ever bought. Evelyn loves him too.
This would be just the otherside. Not so scary or cool. I want to do more with the windows. Im still deciding what to do. Not too fancy I know, but you can never have too many spider webs!

Heres the links for the crafts again.

Eyeball Wreath, what I did instead of doing white stryofoam balls was I bought glittered styrofoam and it really made the eyes pop. I also bought googley eyes with lashes. Both at Hobby Lobby. Click Here for the tutorial.

Magnet Spiders- seriousy easy easy EASY! I would do it again in a heartbeat litterally took me maybe 45 minutes to cut and glue everything. Super simple! Click Here for the tutorial.

Halloween Decor Pt. 1

Halloween is by far my favorite Holiday! I love spooky things, ghosts, pumpkin anything, costumes! Everything about it is awesome! I have been known by my family and friends to start searching for Halloween decor inside and out from the day it hits the shelves. This year since I was home for a while I got to do alot of crafts for it! Thank you Pintrest!! At the bottom of this post will be the links to the crafts if you'd like to do them or Pin for later :)

This would be the bar that seperates my living room and dinning room. You might remember Ghost, Frankenstien and Pumpkin that I did before. I gave a Pumpkin away on a giveaway a few weeks ago! Most of these things I found at a shop called Tai Pan Trading Co in Salt Lake City, and just random spots. P and I love that Skull you see on #3 it lights up on the inside.

This is ontop of my fridge, you might notice the coupons behind the witch hat. These witch hates light up and the pumpkin with the ghost lights up as well. I love my metal spider too! I have been meaning to spray paint it with glitter.
This came from P a few years ago, before we got married. I was having a bad day at work and he sent me a flower arrangment. The flowers are fake now but I made it pretty close to the arrangment he did give me. Oh and I kept that card. What a dork.
Do you like my little Ghost lattern? another boutique find :)
This is another craft I did at home. Evelyn's cute little feet!! I just love this!! I cant wait to do one for Christmas!

These little guys I got at Target last year that I displayed on my staircase. This year they are little guys Evelyn loves to play with. They end up all over the house. Her favorite is the pumpkin guy.
My front door! I love my little spiders! They are a craft and are also on my front door.. I got my cute little sign at Hobby Lobby last year.

Tomorrow I'll be doing my outside...and wont be such a big post!

Heres a few links to the crafts in these photos.

Show & Tell Monday! Shopping!

1. Tell us your favorite stores to shop at.
I love JC Pennys and Old Navy! Cant go wrong with both stores and their prices are uh-mazing most of the time.

2. What are you "signature pieces" to wear.. your go-to outfits?
I am usually wearing tanktops in the summer, which I have realized alot this summer that its not my best look. I look frumpyer and my boobs hang out alot.
Fall I am coming more into my Mom look which has been a work in process. I got my boots, which I need more of and I love my cover-over's! They are my best friends! I want some scarves but I cant imagine spending $17 on a long piece of fabric.

3. Show us your style through pictures {of you or pinterest finds}.
This is just one outfit for me the day we went to the pumpkin patch.

4. Show us your favorite celebrity style icons.
Haha I dont follow that closely! So I have none to show. I do however LOVE Mad Men I think I should have been born in the 70's.

5. If you had to spend money on clothes or home items, which would you choose?
Right now definitly clothes!! I am needing a wardrobe change!
6. Show us your favorite accessories.
I dont have pictures of them and I really dont want to take a photo. I have this Time Turner necklace, that I bought last year and yes it is Harry Potter inspired so I love it! I also have a golden snitch! Obviouslly my wedding ring is a big LOVE!
7. Tell us in one sentence your philosophy behind shopping. {What makes you buy an item}
How cheap I can get it and how cute it looks. They it turns to if I will wear it, and if its worth the purchase.

The day I slammed my head on the monkey bars.

I have been really bad about taking Evelyn to the park. Mainly because #1 I dont really like to interact with people, I am shy and hate introducing myself, so if there is people around giving you that awkward smile of "oh its ok your here", I give the smile of "your going to kidnap my child"....yepp. Thats probably why I know not one of my neighbors because I can't ever make the 1st commitment into a conversation.

So one day I braved up the courage and decided what the heck, after I finished the chores I put Evelyn into her stroller and went to a park near the house.

Mistake #1...apperently this park is more Big Kid friendly, I didnt realize that from just a glance when driving by that its really for 7 and up ages. So even though I tried to do a few things with Evelyn, the fact that the only way to get to a slide was through a tube she was scared of was fail.

Mistake of my neighbor's daughters came over and was talking about dead bodies. I left almost immeditly after they got there.

Mistake #3...I forgot that you need to look up when you climb the freaking things. I put Evelyn up on one of the landings and went to pull myself up and BAM!! Slammed my damn head so hard on the monkey bars, my head got fuzzy, I felt like I broke my head. Still to this day its a little sore.

I remember why I hate the park.

But I will be going to the park again.

Life with a 1 nap a day child.

I seriously LOVED the 2 naps a day, I did. I hoped and prayed it would never go away, even into her teen years, cause God know's I'll need it then. But I always hoped Evelyn would love her naps.

My child loves the world, she loves the play she is content to entertain herself while I do things, such as write this blog. So the fact that she has found more energy that she decided to not take her 2nd nap...burns me out.

I used to sit down and lounge with a book or the TV or clean...mainly clean or do whatever I had to do with the TV to listen to. Now its like....I have an hour..maybe sometimes 30 minutes to do what I got to do. It tough I wont denie it. I am used to those 2 naps and getting at least one nap to sit and be myself for a minute. Now I don't get that.

I love my child to death and I absolutly love being a stay at home mother, and I hope I can continue that for a long time. But I am having a hard time adjusting to it, I miss having that spare time to be me. I got to find some way to be myself, to be my blogger-self, be Liz and be just a person.

Evelyn and I are starting to work on her schedule a little more. She wakes up at 7:30 and I should probably start waking up at 7. She goes down for her nap at 11:30...and usually its a fight. But I am working on it still. P and I think she's just hungry and thats why she's having a hard time going to sleep, so tomorrow we will be eating and then going to bed and seeing if that helps her nap longer, or if it makes no difference.

Evelyn cannot tell me she's hungry so dont think I am being mean and putting my kid to bed hungry.

I didnt think it would take this long to get her settled into a different routine but it is. So I appologize for not blogging. I am still trying to find the time to be Evelyns Mom/ P's Wife/Housekeeper/Blogger/Liz.

Pumpkin Patch!

I know everyone posts about how much fun they had at the pumpkin patch, but this wasn't just Evelyns first time at the Pumpkin Patch it was mine and P's first time! P's family stole pumkins when he was a kid, great role models, he knows. I just never got the shot to go I guess so this year I wanted to take Evelyn.
I as surprised how much fun it actually was. They had plenty of games and a HUGE balloon thing attached to the ground and a DJ? I had no clue! I think we will be making this a tradition!
Of course we took Evelyn on a Hayride! I hought she'd be way more into it but once she saw that Hay all over all she wanted was to sit down and play in he hay...but luckily I got a good photo of her looking like she was enjoying the ride.
We had homemade pumpkin and butter pecan ice cream which was seriously delicious!! P and I got pumpkins and decided to get Evelyn a pumpkin later on since she was being kind of restless. Although she was a big fan of this cute white pumpkin that she kept picking up. I was sad we didnt get it for her.
It was such a fabulous fall day! Such a fun experience to do with Evelyn! Heres a closer look at her outfit :)
See our little candy corn :)

Show and Tell: When I was 17

1. When you were 17, tell us what kind of car you drove, where you worked, and what you were usually up to on the weekends.
Oh geeze, ummm when I was 17 I could be seen driving my moms Van or my 2 door cadi. Usually on weekends I was with my boyfriend or in Salt Lake City hanging out with our collage friends.

2. Show us a picture of you when you were 17 {roughly}.

3. When you were 17, tell us what you wanted to be when you "grew up."
I honestly doubt I knew. I knew I wanted to try and be a stay at home mom.

4. When you were 17, tell us the kind of boys that you dated. Did you have a type? Do you have a relationship you remember well? Tell us about it.
OMG. Most people would probably be surprised I dated nerdy looking boys, totally not that attractive, usually friends with popular guys but I never liked the popular guys. I also dated skinny boys, I wasnt into muscles. Who knew?!?

5. When you were 17, tell us where you pictured your life 10 years from then. Did it turn out the way you expected it to?
Well I havent reached the 10 year mark...but so I never thought I would live in NC. I never thought I would marry somone in the Military. I never thought I would move away from everyone. I never thought this life for me!

When to let go...

I have had this family issue going on for about 3 years now. I don't really want to say what the issue is..but lets just say it is one of those issues that has been going on, and its sorta like a repeat cycle. But the cycle is just getting worse.

For starters, no this is not in P's and I's relationship it is with a sibling of mine.

This cycle has been putting me through the ringer, and thank god it started when I got married and I moved. So as much as I hate not being there to support my family, I am so glad I do not have to watch this happen. My parents have given their all to their children, and I'll be honest none of us have ever really appreciated it until we got older...well some of us. Its been very hard to watch my parents make the same mistakes with this sibling of mind.

I always have felt like a therapist to many of my friends and family, I am a very easy person to talk to. So I naturally feel the need to give advice to my parents. I know they hate it but I wish they could see how much they could do different to help this situation.

This situation is a bad one. Its a constant repeat of a cycle I have been watching from the outside and the inside for a while now.

P is sick of hearing me talk about this sibling. He is to the point where he doesn't even like to hear the persons name anymore. Which makes it hard because this is something also affecting me.

The problem is, I am not sure when to just say enough is enough...I cant watch you do this anymore, I cannot see your FB feeds or Instagram photos anymore of you doing this. I cannot find that balance.

I know its not an easy thing to let go of something, or someone. I have done it before. I know how hard of a decision this is. But I just cant watch this sibling hurt themselves any longer. I already lost a sibling way too early and I just don't know how to protect myself, my parents or anyone else from this destruction.

How do you find the balance of knowing when its time to let it go?

What's going on at my house..

I really feel like I have lost my blogging pace. I used to be able to sit and read blogs and have enough time to schedule some posts. Latley I have no time, pretty much since I got back to NC, and its probably because I had my Mom here and still just have a shit ton of things to do. I keep finding out that I ran out of cleaning supplies so my house isnt as clean as I like it but its ok since I cleaned before I left for that 4 months. I so had expired things in my fridge that I didnt check before I went shopping, and its not that I cant grocery shop again but because we get paid a few days earlier I would rather wait.

Evelyn has also decided two naps a day is not for her anymore. So I do not have those times during the day to blog and to read when I still have other things going on. I am still figuring out the time Evelyn is ready to nap for her now one nap a day so that its not too early and not too late and figuring out if she needs a new bedtime and so on and so forth. Seems like everyday is different for the girl.

We also started the process of weaning her off the Paci...its harder then Ithought! But I cut the Paci's tip and bam we are in the process so now going back now!

P is back at work and working long hours. Its driving me nuts. I never know when he is home and I never know anything. Freaking sucks. But I am trying to adjust. I realize my day has to move on a schedule because of Evelyn, so if he's not home to eat when Evelyn is ready then he will just have to heat up his dinner.

I really feel like a scatter brained mess. I am sorry if I am lacking in being out there with you all...I am just really trying to adjust back to life here and figuring out more of my Mommy things. Bare with me folks!

How I Met My Husband...

I was totally inspired by Christine @ Hooah and Highchairs story of how she met her husband (and if you click that link it will send you to her story), and decided to write about how I met my husband.

When I was 19, I had just finished my little "immature party stage", I needed a break to get away from all the drama of pulling away from friends and getting my life back on track. My friend Kylie lived at Fort Riley with her husband and daughter. Her husband's name was Thomas and Thomas was about to deploy for his first time to Iraq, so I thought I would head out there and visit them, for about 10 days to see them and say goodbye.

When I got there almost immediatly they wanted to show me around Fort Riley and for some reason they wanted to go to the PX...if you have been to a PX you know there is a food court before you walk into the actual PX area, so as we were walking in, suddently I saw this man in a dirty white shirt and jeans, walking out of the PX, my heart probably had a surge cause I remember the feeling of shock running through my body, he smiled, I smiled and I turned away knowing I would never ever have the guts to talk to him...suddenly he turns and says "Hey Thomas how you doing??"...WHAT?!? I seriously turned bright red, he introduced himself and all I could think was thank god I look hot today. They talked about hanging out soon and I was so excited!! I immediatly told Kylie he was HAWT!.
During this time Thomas and Kylie did not want me to meet P, they wanted me to date this boy who turned out to be P's roommate. He wasnt my type he has just

So one day P came over for a little party to Kylies and Thomas's where I tried to get P's attention so badly, but not in a trashy way. He didnt seem intrested so  acted like I didnt care. But later one when he got he alone he kissed me for the first time. :)

Over the next few days he and I had our first date and even spent a few hours on Guard Duty together. After I flew home to Utah he flew to California for his 2 week leave before deployment and we spent the whole time talking, and then finally made our relationship really offical. But making it offical ment me making the commitment to wait for him for 12 months.
Deployment #1 Day he left.

After 12 months I was there waiting for him! After that he met my family, we went to Hawaii for a week, I went to California and met his family where we got ENGAGED!!

A few days after we got engaged we flew to Utah where he insisted on us getting married in the courthouse and we did!

I'm beyond blessed to of had such a whirlwind of a relationship and a marriage! I have loved every single minute of it! He is a wonderful husband and a wonderful fantastic father! I couldnt be happier with anyone else.

Show and Tell Monday!

1. If you could relive any memory in your life, tell us what it would be, and what/if anything you would change about it?
I would love to relive the day I gave birth to Evelyn, I honestly wish things had gone a little different, I wish I had my plan written down better, I did not expect to give birth in 5 hours, I was prepared to deal with a very long labor. I wish I had just let my body do it by it's self. I do not regret being induced at all since P was home on R&R and she was clearly not coming down on her own. However, nothing can ever take away the feeling I had that I got to have a vaginal delivery and it went so smooth and I didn't tear and nothing bad happened and that's awesome!
2. If you could be any celebrity or well-known person, show us who you would be.
Love her look and her hair she's a very good actress!
3. If you won the lottery, tell us would take the lump sum or take the money overtime, would you continue working or quit right away, would you reveal who you are, and what are some of the first things you would spend with your money?
I would love to take it all at once but it would be gone too fast so I'd take it overtime. I don't work so no big deal. I would not want ANYONE to know I won the lottery. Seriously.  Well except P. I would buy myself a new wardrobe. I need new clothes. I'd also buy a home :)
4. If you could live anywhere, show us where it would be and tell us why.

Charleston, SC
5. If you could have one magic power, what would be and what would you do with it?
Ahh...the power to make time slow down. I'd love to do that at moments with Evelyn and with P.

Too Fast!

I am turning into a clique mom. You know the ones that always is saying, "Oh they grow up so fast!" "enjoy it now" "oh poop ya poop" ya know and the ones who talk about their birthing experience at the dinner table. Manners I know. But really I had no idea. You wont have any idea either until its your own child growing up before your eyes.

I have a 10 year old nephew named Mackey. He is so adorable and so smart! He lived in Sweden for a few years and got to go to Ireland and Spain and I think a few more countries. Everytime I see him I am so proud of him and how big he is getting. But its nothing compared to Evelyn.

I seriously crave my little newborn again who wanted to cuddle and just loved all over her Mommy. I was her entire world. Now she is 14 months old and the world is her playground! She see's so many new things all day and just wants to explore everything she can. Mommy is no longer the center on her universe and while I am so glad I do not have a clingy baby, sometimes I wish she wanted her Mommy a little more.

Now I hear Evelyn answering my questions with an almost clear as day, Yes or No. She says "Ink" aka Drink, Juice "uuice" says Daddy and Dada, says "Ay!" aka Play. I mean seriously. Its like where did she learn how to talk? and boy I cannot wait to hear what is on her mind! She climbs all over the room as high as she can go! Cant climb it? go grab something to balance on and try it that way. She loves other people, no stranger danger at all! Oh and this girl certainly has a Sassyness going on.

Her little mind is just soaking up everything! Its a joy and I am also scared as hell I am going to screw her up in some way.

Its definitely a huge journey that I still am navigating through. But I love it! I love that she is so in love with the movie Tangled...even to the point of knowing when the dancing and running scenes happen so she can act it out too. Maybe a future actress on our hands or a dancer?

I am definitely enjoying the journey of being Evelyns Mommy. She's all my joy. But I do wish it would slow down a tad bit! I'd love to enjoy this stage a little more, and that's what I am going to be working on.

Tuesday, October 2, 2012

Hello from Fort Bragg

This woman has been home for about 5 days now. Its been nice! I missed my house and I am so glad I deep cleaned before I felt because I have so much LAUNDRY and even more CLEANING and DECORATING to do. Seriously if I could make the choice no one would be allowed in my house. I never let it get this dirty looking and there is stuff everywhere!! Not to mention my DVR decided to delete EVERYTHING....JOYS!
I haven't had much time to do reading but I don't have any scheduled posts for the next little bit so i decided I would hurry and write a post!
P came home on Saturday and he came with his bags lost...AGAIN! Yes AGAIN! They lost his bags on the way to Lawton, OK and on the way back to Fayetteville. Oh geeze. He also surprised me by showing up with a black eye. Hubby apparently got in a fight at a bar and didn't want to tell me because I would have been mad. Damn now I make jokes about when I nudge his ribs that they are broken since he gets squeamish. Damn boys. At least he hit him back.
On Sunday we took off to Myrtle Beach, SC it was everyones first time going and it was a nice little mini vacation after almost 4 months apart. Worth it!!
Anyways I have got to get back to picking up and cleaning my ass off. The joys! The Joys!!

Heres a little photo for you :)
Yes Evelyn is rocking the Duck Lips.:)
